Members and friends of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago’s Young Leaders Society took over Fulton Market Kitchen to Ignite a year that will be filled with fundraising, service hours and networking.

The sold out event that took place Friday February 20, welcomed over 350 next generation philanthropists to Ignite 2015.

While guests, some coupled and some single ready to mingle, enjoyed specialty cocktails from the open bar, passed appetizers, live music from the Selner Brothers band and mingling, Fulton Market Galley director and artist Franklin Riley was creating a specially commissioned piece that would be auctioned off that evening. The piece, a take on the iconic “girl in pearl earring” with a twist along with a slew of other silent auction items went to their fundraising goal.

The mission of YLS is to encourage philanthropy and volunteerism amongst their peers and to create a vibrant region in which to live, learn, work and prosper for all Chicagoans. Through their numerous fundraising efforts throughout the year, they help raise funds to help support 185 nonprofit agencies across the region.
