The scoop: Heineken And Chicago’s RSVP Gallery’s #Heineken100 custom product launch party hosted by Isimeme “Easy” Otabor, RSVP Gallery Operator and Buyer. RSVP Gallery partnered with HEINEKEN on the third, a custom jersey knit and lambskin strap-back cap, of the five 2015 #Heineken100 product collaborations, Previous collaborations include a Los Angeles collaboration with Union LA and NYC collaboration with KITH. The products are not for sale, but rather are curated for a select list of 100 influencers around the world.




Event:Chefs Hall of Fame 2015

Date: Tuesday October 6
Where: Navy Pier
Who’s Who? Chef Jean Joho(Everest) and Graham Elliot, John Hogan(River Roast), Rich Melman(LEYE), Chef Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia, Bar Toma), Chef Judy Contino, Georges “Kiki” Cuisance, and Steve Lombardo and Hugo Ralli (Gibson’s Steakhouse, Hugo’s Frog Bar).
The scoop: Six Chicago restaurant industry leaders were honored as inductees at the 10th annual 2015 Chefs Hall of Fame by the Chicago Culinary Museum. Around 325 people attended the event at the Crystal Gardens on Navy Pier raising over $15,000.

Event: Collaboraction Beggar’s Banquet 2015

The scoop: Collaboraction, the Chicago-based theater company dedicated to social change, collaboration and original work, launched its 20th season with a fun, raucous and profitable Beggars’ Banquet gala that raised $50,000 for a cool Chicago theater company making big strides particularly of late tackling key social issues like violence and education disparity in Chicago. Artistic Director Anthony Moseley, Executive Director Darcy Addison and original company member Sandra Delgado led a funny, emotional salute to Chicago theater artist and nationally acclaimed director Kimberly Senior, director of Ayad Akhtar’s 2013 Pulitzer Prize winning play Disgraced, who founded Collaboraction in 1995.

Event: Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation

Date: Thursday October 22
Where: The Peninsula Chicago
The scoop: The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation hosted the first-ever “A Magical Evening Chicago” hosted by ABC 7 news co-anchor Kathy Brock honored former Chicago Bears quarterback Jim McMahon with the Christopher Reeve Spirit of Courage Award and presented Geoff Kent, founder of Spinal Cord Injury Sucks with the Jon O’Connor Visionary Leadership Award.
The evening featured music by the Chicago Diamond Trio.

Event: 16th annual Carl Sandburg Literary Award

Date: Wednesday, October 21
Where: The Forum 725 W. Roosevelt Road
The scoop: The Chicago Public Library Foundation and the Chicago Public Library are presenting the 16th annual Carl Sandburg Literary Award to legendary composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. The event was attended by almost 700 and raised more than $1.5 million to support the initiatives of the Chicago Public Library. Eric Charles May, an associate professor in the Fiction Writing program of Columbia College, received the 21st Century Award, which salutes emerging authors with ties to Chicago.
