EVENT: Siskel Film Center “ADVANCED STYLE” Screening

What:Inspired by the popular blog Advanced Style by Ari Seth Cohen, this sassy documentary showcases the unique life-and-style philosophies of seven Manhattan fashionistas, aged 60 to 90

EVENT: TEATRO REGIO TORINO (Royal Theatre of Turin)

What:Teatro Regio Torino of Turin, Italy, launches its first-ever North American tour at the Harris Theater with a rare concert production of Gioachino Rossini’s William Tell sung in Italian.

WHY? A one night only event celebrating the North American debut with Rossini’s last and most famous opera, chronicling the adventures of a 15th century Swiss folk hero and his legendary expertise with a cross bow. Teatro Regio Torino Rossini Tour that is co-sponsored by Maserati  in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Trident.

WHY? Though best known as a revolutionary and influential playwright, Bertolt Brecht wrote more than 2,000 poems of astonishing range and formal accomplishment.

EVENT: 2014 Hope Awards Holiday Luncheon

What: The 2014 Hope Awards, which honors the achievements of Off The Street Club, its participants and acknowledges local community members who make notable contributions and demonstrate unwavering support for Chicago’s youth.

WHY? Off The Street Club is the longest running boys & girls club of Chicago and provides “casual joy” to Chicago’s youth. The club remains a retreat and a reward for youth who bravely say “no” to drugs, gangs and violence permeating their neighborhood.
