The School of the Art Institute of Chicago has produced many a great artists in its 150 years history and on Friday, March 2 from 7-11pm, at Mana Contemporary (2233 S. Throop St. Chicago) some of those SAIC alums along with patrons and supporters of the school will gather for Beautiful/Night, SAIC’s first alumni and faculty art auction and benefit supporting student scholarships.
Ahead of the event, several works of art from SAIC alumni and faculty are up for auction on Paddle8. Dean of Faculty Lisa Wainwright curated pieces from faculty SAIC faculty including Nick Cave, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Jan Tichy as well as alums like Rashid Johnson, Angel Otero, Sanford Biggers, in the lot of 40 works. Auction sales support student scholarships at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Below is a list of all the artists whose work are up on the Beautiful/Night art auction
Starting bids for some of the pieces begin at $1,500 and go as high as $62,500 for another.

The committee members for Beautiful/Night, SAIC’s first alumni and faculty art auction and benefit are:Heather Becker (BFA 1989), Melissa Behm, Daniel Berger, Daniel Bryant, Holly Hunt, Silvia Krehbiel, Monique Meloche (SAIC 1991–94), Maria Pinto (BFA 1990, HON 2017), Beth K. Rosen, Donna Stone. Guests will enjoy Cocktail party, food stations, DJ Matt Roan plus performances and interactive ambiance by SAIC alumni and faculty. Limited-edition pins and bow ties presented for purchase by SAIC alumni and faculty, including Maria Pinto, Cheryl Pope, and Norman Teague. The Jaharis Family Foundation, Inc. (Mary Jaharis, BA 1958) will generously match philanthropic contributions made in support of the Beautiful/Work Scholarship Fund up to $100,000 (excluding ticket sales and auction proceeds).
