Original Hamilton Star Renée Elise Goldsberry To headline Goodman Theatre Gala

Renée Elise Goldsberry, who originated the role of Angelica Schuyler in the musical phenomenon Hamilton, going on to win a Tony award will headline Chicago’s Goodman Theatre’s “Ruby Night” spring fundraising gala presented by The Women’s Board on May 19. This year will mark the 40th anniversary of the woman’s board and “Ruby Night” co-chairs will be Joan E. Clifford, Swati Mehta and Alice Sabl. Tickets for the black tie event taking place at The Fairmont Chicago Saturday may 19 will start at $1,000 per person.

Since its inception in 1978, Goodman Theatre Women’s Board—currently under the leadership of President Cynthia K. Scholl—has raised more than 43 million dollars in support of 38 Goodman productions and an array of educational programs through special events and projects. Members serve on committees for the annual Goodman Theatre Gala, the Goodman Auction, the Women’s Board Annual Appeal and the Education and Community Engagement Committee.
