Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III Of Monaco’s Grandson Weds Marie Chevallier

  • Louis Ducruet married Marie Chevallier in Monaco

Louis Ducruet, the oldest son of s.a.s. princess Stephanie and m. Daniel Ducruet, and grandson of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainer III of Monaco, married Marie Chevallier first at a civil ceremony celebrated at the city hall of Monaco on Friday July 26 by m. Georges Marsan, the mayor. Followed by a reception in the private gardens of the princely palace. On Saturday July 27,  the couple’s civil was followed by a religious ceremony led by father caesar penzo, the chaplain of the princely palace, held inside the Cathedral Notre-Dame-immaculate of Monaco (also known as St. Nicholas Cathedral), . It was the same church where the historic 1956 wedding of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III of Monaco took place. Mr. Ducret, and his new wife were the first members of the royal family to marry there since the grandparents’ wedding, a way of honoring them as he said to Point de Vue magazine late last year.

Marie wore a Rosa Clara Couture collection “SALLY” jumpsuit for the civil ceremony that took place in the presence of ll. Yes. S. Prince Albert and princess Charlene, family members as well as the couple’s loved ones and Louis is wore a Carlo Pignatelli navy suit. The Rosa Clara Sally from the 2019 collection is described as: lightweight bridal trouser suit in crepe. V-neckline and low back. With pockets and lace with sheer inserts at the waist.

For the religious ceremony, the bride wore a custom made wedding dress designed by Atelier Boisanger and Pauline Ducruet, her sister-in-law according to Vogue and the groom said I-Do in a gray morning suit by Kim Jones’s Dior Homme.

Both Princess Grace (D. 1982) and Prince Rainier (D. 2005) are interred in that same Cathedral Notre-Dame-immaculate of Monaco, where their funerals were held.

“Growing up in the princely family binds you very strongly to this country…for me it was therefore obvious to get married at the cathedral, so we will be near my grandfather, Prince Rainier III, – this will be our way of associating him with our happiness. My grandfather was a man I admired. I was very close to him.”

After a family photo session organized at the princely palace, the festivities continued at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel.

Following the religious ceremony, the newlyweds were whisked away in “a 1956 Chrysler Imperial — the same car Prince Ranier III of Monaco drove to pick up Grace Kelly when she docked in Monaco ahead of their royal wedding in April 1956″ a nod to Princess Grace and Prince Rainier.

Mr Ducruet and Marie Chevallier met as college students in Cannes  back in 2011 and thats when their relationship blossomed before he and described their romance as “love at first sight.” Ducruet and Chevallier announced their engagement in February 2018, while on holiday in Vietnam.
