The Marty McFly’s aka Nike Air Mag, Jeff Koon’s Balloon Animal series, [email protected] x BAPE series, Daniel Arsham, Hebru Brantley’s Fly Girl, KAWS, Supreme are some of the most recognized and collected pop culture pieces and collected art work and these collectible items can be found on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago now until April 11. The art and fashion pieces are part of a collaboration with Heritage Auctions for the Urban Art Pop-Up Trunk Show, that combines traditional art concepts and new media and celebrating the growing importance of urban and street art objects in culture.
The second floor of the MCA’s Art Store’s Urban Art Pop-Up Trunk Show will have on display, for a limited time only, over 100 urban art objects including an original pair of the Back to the Future II Shoes plus pieces from some of the most popular names in art and street culture today, including Daniel Arsham, Banksy, [email protected], Hebru Brantley, Ron English, Damien Hirst, KAWS, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Takashi Murakami, Ai Weiwei, and skate decks by Supreme.
Many of the items on display can also be purchased on the Heritage Auctions website and they run in value from $300 for a [email protected] X I AM OTHER or a Supreme skate deck to $18,000 for Jeff Koons Balloon Rabbit (Red), or a KAWS piece.
