Memorial Day officially kicks off #summertimeChi and with that comes the junior/associate/auxiliary board set’s major fundraiser season. Lincoln Park Auxiliary Board’s ZooOlogie kicked it off HERE The set of Chicago’s next generation big board leaders have been hard at work planning these events to not only raise funds going towards initiatives but to also raise awareness and perhaps you’ll love it so much you will want to be a part of their organization.
We’ve been to our share of events so we know not all events are created the same so let us tell you which one’s you must add to your social calendar this summer. Most (regular priced) tickets are under $150.
The great thing is some parts of your ticket purchase may be tax deductible. So instead of Friday night getting bottle service at a club, grab some friends, get dressed and have fun.
Some of these are recommened based on our past coverage and some based on the location and what is all entailed within the event.

We covered their kickoff reception at the Godfrey HERE and from what we hear it will be an experience. This year they are taking over the Block 37 space and the afterparty is at Underground. If you only go for the scenic view that the Shedd Aquarium provides it would be worth it. Shedd BLU is an event that tends to sell out fast and for good reason. You get access to the aquarium and FUNdraising. Come celebrate summer and Shedd’s Amazing Rising exhibit. What type of crowd? Slightly corporatey but cream of the crop type. One of the most comprehensive Magritte exhibit is coming to Chicago and you can get exclusive after-hours access to Magritte: The Mystery of the Ordinary, 1926-1938. The Evening Associates Board consists of art lovers and supporters. The board is somewhat diverse and from our coverage last year HERE, a good turnout of good looking Chicagoans.

This is the party where Chicago Magazine fetes their annual Single’s list. For the first time in many years they’ve changed venue from MCA and it will now be at the Chicago History Museum. Proceeds support innovative bone marrow transplant research to improve cancer care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. If you’re single and looking to mingle, for sure should make this event.
The best Summer Lovin to date was about 4 years ago with DJ Whiteshadow pre-Gaga fame.
