Though luxury brand La Perla is known for its high-end lingerie collection, you’ll be surprised to know they also offer selections that you can wear outside of the bedroom for women, men and wares women can wear even in the boardroom! Last Thursday, La Perla in collaboration with Vogue magazine invited some of Chicago’s finest ladies and few gents to help celebrate the store’s official move from their Michigan Avenue address to another tony location, Chicago’s Gold Coast.
The official grand opening celebration also served as a fundraiser with portion of proceeds benefiting After School Matters, the non-profit organization that provides life-changing after-school and summer program opportunities to more than 15,000 Chicago high school teens each year, started by the late former Chicago first lady, Maggie Daley and currently chaired by Mellody Hobson, President at Ariel Investments. As guests arrived, greeted with glasses of wine/chmapgane and yummy bites from Truffleberry, some took notes of what will go on their holiday wishlist and others imagined what a closet full of all La Perla lingerie would be like, #lifegoals.
With hosts Roopa Weber (Senior VP Ariel Investments) and Sarah Albrecht chatting up friends and guests including Ellen Sandor, Melissa Sage Fadim, Les Coney, Martha Billen, Strides for Peace founder Maggie Baczkowski, Michael Weber to name a few. As the night rolled on, ASM Board chair Melody Hobson, who was recently featured in a piece in Vanity Fair magazine, arrived greeting guests, sharing pics of on her cell, we assume being proud mama showing friends pics of her daughter; also long live the blackberry!!
As guests left, they were treated to special goody bag from La Perla.
