
A night that gathered notable names from different corners of Chicago’s cultural and philanthropic community, raised more than $350,000 that will benefit Hyde Park Art center’s array of initiatives including their boundary pushing programming as well as continuing to make the center free and open to the public seven days a week.

Theaster Gates and Linda Johnson Rice, both bold names on Chicago’s who’s who scene were feted by over 500 guests including Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Kate Lorenz (Executive Director of Hyde Park Art Center), Desiree Rogers, Tony Karman, Walter Massey, Dawoud Bey, Valerie Carberry, Tony and Sondra Karman, Walter and Shirley Massey, to name a few.


This year’s Hyde Part Art Center gala was co-chaired by Dedrea, Paul & Ian Gray of the Gray Gallery family as well as Lisa Yun Lee & Josephine Lee Ewing.
