• Details are emerging from the shooting at Nordstrom on Black Friday. Nadia Ezaldein, a seasonal worker attending University of Chicago Law School who was killed on her 22nd birthday, was denied protection order against her ex-boyfriend Marcus Dee, 31 back in April. The victims sister in the petition claimed that, in March, Dee cracked Ezaldein’s ribs, broke her jaw, ripped her clothing and put a gun in her mouth [SUNTIMES]

• Following a breach last week at Sony Pictures Entertainment, the FBI is warning U.S. businesses that hackers have used malicious software to launch a destructive cyberattack reports reuters. The report said the malware overrides all data on hard drives of computers, including the master boot record, which prevents them from booting up. This is the first major destructive cyber attack waged against a company in the U.S, launched on U.S. soil.[REUTERS]
WORLD NEWS
• The price of oil has declined about 40 percent since its peak in mid-June and plunged last week after OPEC voted to continue to pump at the same rate. As a result hundreds of billions of dollars from oil-rich exporters and oil companies is being drained and injecting a much-needed boost for ailing economies in Europe and Japan which could result in one of the biggest transfers of wealth in history. • The fate of University of Michigan football coach Brady Hoke and his tenure with the program may be determined following a scheduled meeting with Interim Athletic Director Jim Hackett later today. Michigan lost to its biggest rival, Ohio State, Saturday night losing all games in the 4 seasons he’s coached the team. The Wolverines finished 5-7 and missed the postseason. [CBS DETROIT]
BUSINESS
• Samsung is getting out of the fiber optics business. The company, in an effort to focus more on core business areas such as smartphones, will sell the fiber optics portfolio to glass manufacturer Corning Inc. The deal will be completed by the first quarter of 2015 following necessary regulatory approvals. [WSJ]

• GQ Magazine’s Year in Hotness retrospective declare 2014 the year of the butt and includes stars such as Beyonce, Cara Delevigne, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Alexandra Daddio, Nicki Minaj. [GQ]

• The British Fashion Awards (BFA) took place last night at the London Colliseum and many fashion figures were honored. John Galliano presented VOGUE Editor in Chief Anna Wintour her Outstanding Achievement Award; Erdem Moralioglu won Women’s Wear Designer of the Year; Victoria Beckham,won Brand of the Year; Simone Rocha won for New Establishment; W Magazine’s Edward Enninful presented with the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and Cara Delevingne as Model of the Year.
