• Snapchat is mulling an IPO with the company’s valuations rising to $25 billion. The company co-founded by Evan Spiegel changed its name to Snap Inc. and previewed its first hardware product, Spectacles, last month. According to reports they are looking to sell shares as early as late March 2017. Though WSJ cautions, there is no guarantee it will achieve a valuation of $25 billion or more.

•  In their weekly roundup of new businesses and announcements by Robert Loerzel, Crain’s Chicago included SociaLifeChicago’s new website redesign. The list also includes a new app to help you find people to do chores, as well as a new non profit. Read it here

• Haiti’s death toll from Hurricane Matthew has now reached 276. Cuba, Bahamas and few other Carribean nations have also suffered damage from the category 4 hurricane thats already making its way to Florida. Four people died in the Dominican Republic. In Haiti alone 3,215 families have been affected and more than 300,000 people are in shelters across the country. More than 30 houses were washed away in Cuba. Relief efforts are underway.

• Last night Bruno Mars released a new solo single and video, his first in 4 years. The Uptown Funk crooner released “24k Magic” with a Vegas set video; his third album is due Nov. 18. Watch it here.

• Actress and singer Zendaya announced, via Youtube yesterday, she is launching a premium behind the scenes app though a launch date was not disclosed. She is currently launching a shoe line with her stylist and Chicago native Law Roach.

• Tory Burch hosted the new class of CFDA members with a cocktail reception in NYC. CFDA’s president and CEO Steven Kolb was in attendance joined by Aurora James of Brother Vellies, Wes Gordon, Timo Weiland, Adam and Ryan Goldston of Athletic Propulsion Labs.
