T magazine Greats. T Magazine’s forthcoming new issue, The Greats, to be released in print Oct. 23 debuted online yesterday with 2 Chicago connected greats. First Lady Michelle Obama and artist Kerry James Marshall made the covers along with Lady Gaga, Zadie Smith (event at DuSable 11/30). The issue also featured thank-you notes, from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Rashida Jones, Gloria Steinem and Jon Meacham, to Michelle Obama. • Nominees for the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been announced. Pearl Jam and the late Tupac Shakur have been nominated, along with Janet Jackson, Joan Baez, Depeche Mode, Chaka Khan, Electric Light Orchestra, Jane’s Addiction, J. Geils Band, Journey, The Cars, Yes, The Zombies, The Bad Brains, Steppenwolf, MC5, Kraftwerk, Joe Tex and Chic. The inductees will be announced in late December.
• Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi’s official visit and state dinner will take place today at the White House. This will be President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama’s final state dinner and Chef Mario Batali will be in charge of the meal. Here is the menu.

• It was a busy day for the NYC scene makers. First up God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards, co-chaired by Neil Patrick Harris, Kate Hudson, John Idol, Michael Kors, Aerin Lauder, Blaine Trump and Anna Wintour, honoured Karlie Kloss The Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service and Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer was presented The Golden Heart Award for Lifetime Achievement. The Headstrong Project Words of War Gala had Seth Meyers, Jake Gyllenhaal. Finally, The Hillary Victory Fund‘s Stronger Together Broadway for Hillary concert, hosted by Billy Crystal, featured Broadway performances from Hugh Jackman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bernadette Peters, Neil Patrick Harris and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
• The late Bill Cunningham, NY Times’ contributor known as the OG ‘street style’ photographer, was honored yesterday at Carnegie Hall by the fashion world with designers Cynthia Rowley, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Vera Wang among those in attendance. On the Carnegie Hall stage, a podium was placed next to a streetlamp bearing the sign installed at 57th Street and 5th Avenue (his favorite corner) in his honor, as well as Cunningham’s signature blue jacket draped over his bicycle. New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr, Jenna Lyons, Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Michael Bloomberg, Linda Wells were also attendance.
