Boko Haram’s offer of an exchange of the kidnapped schoolgirls for key leaders of the militant group held by the Nigerian government is limited to the girls from Chibok, the school in northeastern Nigeria whose mass abduction in April 2014 ignited the campaign to “Bring Back Our Girls”. The military has arrested a man who it says masterminded recent bomb attacks in two different cities that killed at least 70 people. [FOX]

• The matchup between  No. 4 Maria Sharapova vs No. 1 Serena Williams playing for a spot in the Wimbledon finals, will be intense. The Men’s schedule has a day of rest today but No. 1 Novak Djokovic, No. 2 Roger Federer, No. 3 Andy Murray and No. 21 Richard Gasquet defeating No. 4 Stan Wawrinka, all make it to the semi finals. Elsewhere after verbally agreeing to sign with the Dallas Mavericks, DeAndre Jordan pulled a Nick Saban switcharoo and will re-sign with the Los Angeles Clippers instead and Mark Cuban incurred a $25,000 fine for commenting about. NBA’s free agency moratorium ended July 8.

Details from the two athletes who lost fingers in fireworks accidents over the weekend are emerging. Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson suffered a severe hand injury(lost two fingers on one hand, his index and middle fingers). Yesterday ESPN reporter Adam Schefter broke the story, citing medical records obtained through unnamed sources, that two-time Pro Bowl defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated. Though the injuries are not believed to be career-threatening, the Giants did withdraw a long-term contract offer worth $60 million and he is currently not under contract for the 2015 season, because he hadn’t signed his $14.8 million franchise tag tender offer(face palm!). Speaking of loss Chuck Blazer, who plead guilty to racketeering and tax evasion has been banned for life from FIFA.


BUSINESS

$12.5 billion is the reported agreed upon price tag for Procter & Gamble Co. to merge 43 of its fine fragrance, color cosmetics, and hair color businesses with Coty Inc through a tax-free Reverse Morris Trust transaction. P&G has not yet made a determination as to whether the separation will be a “spin-off” or a “split-off.” Elswhere Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. topped analysts’ expectations and named Stefano Pessina, the company’s acting CEO for the last six months and largest shareholder, permanent CEO.
