The deal is being billed as the largest technology acquisition ever at $67 billion, a transaction that involves a special type of stock and cash. EMC, led by CEO Joe Tucci, is a leader in offering data storage solutions and cloud computing and Dell which went back to being a private company in 2013 is the second largest server maker creating a “a corporate-computing giant.” [BLOOMBERG]
Jason Rezaian
The Washington Post correspondent who has been in a Tehran prison for over 14 months has been convicted of espionage following a behind closed doors trial in August though not much details surrounding the conviction in which he faced four charges, is available. Rezaian was arrested on July 22, 2014 and potentially faces a sentence of 10 to 20 years; Under Iranian law, Rezaian has 20 days to appeal. He is a dual U.S.-Iranian citizen. [WASHINGTON POST]
