• A day after the icy and final presidential debate, both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump were in NYC for the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner Thursday night and a friendly roast turned into what some reports call 3 alarm fire. Trump talked about the politicians that favored him pre-presidential race “Suddenly, [they] decided when I ran for president as a Republican that I’ve always been a no-good, rotten, disgusting scoundrel. And they totally forgot about me…but that’s OK.” He made some quips until it got awkward with Trump called Clinton corrupt several times, and not in a joking kind of way, and there were lots of booos. Hillary got her turn, taking swipe at his rigged election commentary and then she went in “Sharing a stage with Donald Trump is like, well, nothing really comes to mind. Donald wanted me drug tested before last night’s debate. … I am so flattered that Donald thought I used some sort of performance enhancer. Now, actually, I did. It’s called preparation…And looking back, I’ve had to listen to Donald for three full debates, and he says I don’t have any stamina!”

• Not all heroes wear cape and that’s the case with movers Josh Lara, Cody Grant, Mike Zaininger. Thursday morning, Clint Engle of Plainfield, who had been released in 2014 following a 12-year prison sentence for beating his ex-girlfriend’s father, showed up to Skyline Smiles in the West Loop looking for said ex. She ran to a back alley where the movers coincidentally were working and pleaded for help. They hid her in the truck and Engle ran into the alley looking for her and subsequently shot himself and was pronounced dead. One of the movers, Cody Grant, told the Tribune, “an officer came to us and told us we saved her life because the guy was looking for her and was trying to kill her.”
