Spain. Thursday afternoon, a van rammed into popular Barcelona tourist spot Las Ramblas promenade and killed 13, injuring scores. The death toll might rise as some of the injuries were critical; the driver of the van is being sought by Spanish police. Spanish King Felipe VI and Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy held a moment of silence for the victims. Allegedly the CIA had tipped off authorities that the area was a terrorist target. President Trump sent a tweet of support to Barcelona and then after that a tweet about a military tall tale involving General Pershing. Reuters reports 5 of the would be attackers were shot dead by police early Friday. The man is listed in stable condition at Northwestern Hospital. According to a DNA info report, the fighting teens or young adults jumped over the ‘L’ turnstyle and ran down to the train platform where they continued to fight until a train car arrived and four or five gunshots rang out and witnesses fled.

• Girls Trip has surpassed the $100M grossing mark making it the first comedy of the year to do so. It is also the first $100 million grossing movie to be directed, produced and starring African American leads. Speaking of historic, Beyoncé is releasing a new limited-edition vinyl box set, How to Make Lemonade, offering insights into her hit visual album with never-before-seen photos that show “the inspiration and themes behind some of the film’s most provocative and cryptic moments.”
• Chicago was the first city to stage Hamilton after it’s mega successful NYC debut, now its Los Angeles’ turn. Opening night for its LA residency at the Pantages theatre in Hollywood was attended by creator Lin Manuel Miranda as well as the likes of Halle Berry, J.J Abrams, Jessica Alba, Stephen Curry.
