Pennsylvania Special Election.  Democrat Conor Lamb has claimed victory after Tuesday night’s special election in Pennsylvania with a lead of 641 ballots and 100% of the precincts reporting. With President Trump stumping for the Republican candidate Rick Saccone over the weekend, the seat that was being contested for was according to some political analysts, an easy win for Republicans. Saccone is not conceding at this point because there are still lots of absentee ballots to be counted, and a recount is still possible. Speaking of the president, after yesterday’s firing of Rex Tillerson, the person he picked to lead the CIA Gina Haspel might have more than a little explaining to do when she faces the Senate confirmation committee due to her admitted role in running black sites torture programs….Read more

• Today is National School Walkout. Many high school students are walking out of the classrooms today to protest gun violence a month after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High school and 10 days before the March For Our Lives rally. According to the walkout organizers, The Women’s March, the 10 a.m. protest  which will last 17 minutes aims to highlight “Congress’ inaction against the gun violence plaguing our schools and neighborhoods.” About 185,000 people in 50 states are expected to join including students from around Chicago. Stoneman Douglas students along with a few key people behind the scenes will take to the nations capital on March 24 for the ‘March For Our Lives.’

In Chicago news: Well well well, United airlines is negatively back in the headlines. A member of the flight crew for the Chicago HQed aviation company allegedly told the owner of a ten-month-old French Bulldog puppy to put it in the overhead container where there’s no significant airflow and guess what happened?! The dog died. United Airlines say they are investigating the animal’s death and have apologized for the ‘accident.’ Mo money, mo problems it seems for gubernatorial candidate J.B Pritzker. The billionaire democrat running to unseat Bruce Rauner allegedly had some secret offshore accounts that the Chicago Tribune uncovered. Attorneys in Chicago cop shooting case are asking for sanctions after a paramedic’s sworn recollection changed concerning the scene where a Chicago Police officer shot and killed Bettie Jones and Quintonio LeGrier.

• Astronaut Scott Kelly, who set a record for the longest single spaceflight in history has an identical twin, Mark who is also an astronaut. In a new study by Nasa, it turns out that the 340 day trip Scott Kelly took has significantly changed his DNA and not just his height. When Scott returned to earth, researchers immediately noted that he had grown two inches in height and then something else, “Scott’s telomeres (endcaps of chromosomes that shorten as one ages) actually became significantly longer in space.”

• The TV host and editor in that OJ Simpson hypothetical if I did it here’s how confession might sue the Juice. According to TMZ, Judith Regan’s lawyer, Jennifer McGrath, says her client is outraged by the claim of Simpson’s lawyer, who said her interview with Simpson was scripted and “Mr. Simpson went along because quite frankly he got a lot of money up front to go along with this.”
Madonna is stepping into the directors chair. MGM, the studio, has tapped Madonna for the feature film that’s based on the true story of Sierra Leone orphan turned ballerina Michaela DePrince. According to Deadline,  Camilla Blackett (Fresh Off the Boat, New Girl, The Newsroom) will adapt the script from DePrince and her mother Elaine DePrince’s 2014 memoir Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina. DePrince’s father was shot and killed by rebels when she was 3 during Sierra Leone’s civil war and her mother died of fever and starvation a week later. She was adopted by a US family.

• Acne Studios co-founders Jonny Johansson and Mikael Schiller have enlisted Goldman Sachs to find a buyer as they look to sell a majority stake in the fashion company. In other fashion news,  BET premiered a five-episode digital series about racism in the fashion industry which sheds light on the complexities Black models face navigating the industry’s predominately white spaces as well as the influence fashion has on the way society views black beauty. Lorraine Schwartz, the jeweler to Beyonce, Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian gathered her bauble babes to toast the launch of the brand’s ‘Eye Bangles.’ Kim Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Rita Ora, Sofia Vergara, Kris Jenner were all in attendance.
