Kushner Loses Top Security Clearance.  President Trump’s  son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner has been denied top-secret clearance which he had been operating on an interim clearance basis for months because of delays in his F.B.I. background check; the memo was sent Friday. According to a WaPo report, at least four countries have discussed how they could manipulate Kushner by taking advantage of his various “business dealings, financial difficulties and lack of foreign policy experience.” This comes as President Trump names his “tech genius” Brad Parscale to be the campaign manager for his 2020 campaign re-election.  Axios is also reporting that deputy communications director official Josh Raffel, the point man internally for Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, is leaving the White House. Hope Hicks, the White House communications director, in her meeting with the House Intelligence committee refused to answer questions about the transition or her time in the White House but admitted that though she tells white lies for the president, she doesn’t lie about matters material to the investigations into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election and possible links to Trump associates…..Read more


• Following Papa John’s anthem controversy during this past NFL season, the pizza company will no longer be the league’s official pizza chain. In a conference call, Papa Johns CEO Steve Ritchie noted that they will focus on its partnerships with 22 teams and its relationships with league players and personalities rather than broader NFL sponsorship. It’s stock took a beating, down 5.6%. You’ll remember Papa John founder John Schnatter made controversial remarks about national anthem protests by NFL players, which caused backlash forcing him to step down as CEO.

In Chicago news: Three men, all aged 20, have been harged in connection with the armed robbery of a woman in The Loop on Tuesday afternoon; they are expected in bond court today. As plans for the Obama Presidential Library Center nears, the former President made a surprise appearance at a a public meeting hosted by the Obama Foundation at McCormick Place Tuesday evening. Lastly, Shelbourne North Water Street Corporation, the developer that tried to build the Chicago Spire, meant to be the tallest residential building in the world is suing two statutory bodies of the Republic of Ireland — National Asset Management and National Asset Loan Management claiming damages to the tune of $1.21 billion to the project that never was.

A Shark Tank rejected company has been snapped up by Amazon. Ring, the video camera doorbell company will be acquired by Amazon in a deal valued at more than $1 billion. This is Amazon’s second biggest acquisition following the $13.5 billion it paid for Whole Foods last year.


• Ryan Seacrest is the latest man in the entertainment industry to be accused of sexual misconduct. The TV host, producer et al has been accused by Suzie Hardy, Seacrest’s stylist at the E! network for abuse and harrassment. In an exclusive story published by Variety, Hardy detailed years of unwanted sexual aggression — grinding his erect penis against her while clad only in his underwear, groping her vagina, and at one point slapping her buttock so hard that it left a large welt still visible hours later. Seacrest has released a statement refuting the claims ahead of the upcoming E! Oscars red carpet which according to PageSix, some publicists will steer many of their stars away from Seacrest on the Oscar red carpet. •  According to a recently revealed police report filed, former chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts, casino mogul Steve Wynn, allegedly raped a woman who went on to have the child. A woman told officers that Wynn raped her at least three times around 1973 and 1974 at her Chicago apartment. She reported she got pregnant and gave birth to a girl in a gas station restroom. Another report for an incident that took place in 1976, shows a woman told police she had consensual sex with Wynn “several times” while she worked as a dealer at the downtown Las Vegas casino-hotel Golden Nugget, but “felt coerced to perform the acts.” She reported she was forced to resign when she turned him down.



• The fashion month(s) for F/W ’18 is still chugging along as the fashion crowd descends upon Paris. Dior and Saint Laurent have already presented their collections in a PFW that’s thinner on designers presenting this year. French designer Alexis Mabille is foregoing his runway show for showroom appointments; Céline and Mugler are not showing as well. Kim Kardashian’s company has responded to the suit filed in Illinois by makeup artist and beauty brand entrepreneur Kirsten Kjaer Weis over the KKW brand trademark.
