Listening Sessions. Students who survived the Florida high school mass shooting along with people affected by school shootings gathered for an hour long meeting at the White House with President Trump Wednesday. The discussion got emotional though one of the big takeaways was President Trumps continued call to arm select teachers as a solution that “would solve the problem instantly.” Elsewhere but on the topic, NY Congresswoman, Claudia Tenney, a Republican remarked on a radio show that “so many” people who commit mass murders “end up being Democrats” though she didn’t really have empirical evidence to back up her claim. Many are asking/wondering what makes this different from previous mass school shooting and why these kids are so mobilized. We can’t really say exactly but knowing they are empowered to use their voice and support is a factor. During CNN’s listening session town hall, several people directed their ire towards Florida Senator Marco Rubio with one calling his lack of supporting ban on assault weapons “pathetically weak”….Read more

• In Chicago news: In an effort to gain FCC approval Sinclair Broadcast Group is divesting its portfolio of several media properties including Chicago’s own Tribune station, if the $3.9 billion Sinclair-Tribune merger is approved by the FCC and Justice Department. A person of interest linked to the murder of a 2-year-old in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood, who was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe trauma from lacerations and stab wounds, has been arrested. Did former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort promise Federal Savings Bank of Chicago President Steve Falk a job at the White House in exchange for loans? Special counsel Mueller’s team’s investigating. Scott Kennedy, has pleaded to one count of wire fraud. He’s the biz exec that spent over $5.8 mil of his company money on lavish lifestyle and his escort turned girlfriend and her kids.
• On Monday we shared the story by Shia Kapos about The Profit star Marcus Lemonis’ recent wedding. Well it seems there’s more tea about his private life. Lemonis, according to an account on reddit, was allegedly dating both his current wife and another woman named Beth Levine who lives in Lake Forest while he was still legally married but probably separated from Ila Penfold. Beth, whom he started dating around 2010, apparently had an appearances on The Secret Millionaire along with a dog they shared, allegedly. His much older new wife Bobbi or Roberta, owns a Glencoe store Runway, now with multiple locations, and that’s how they got into business.

• Lupita Nyong’o confirmed via Instagram that she will be starring in and producing Trevor Noah’s autobiography “Born a Crime: Stories From a Southern African Childhood.” She will be portraying his mother in the film adaption of the NYTimes bestselling book.
• Wendy Williams has been having some health scares as of late and the daytime gossip queen announced she is taking 3 weeks off, doctors orders. She revealed she is suffering from Graves disease, an autoimmune condition, as well as recurrent thyroid issues. This comes after she collapsed on air during a segment late last year and DailyMail reported about her husband’s secret 10 year mistress who lives just miles from their family home. At this time no one is replacing her.
FASHION
• Fashion brand Veronica Beard celebrated the opening of its Los Angeles area store with a party Wednesday. Jamie Chung, Jordan Brewster, Louise Roe, Lindsey Price, Maria Menunos, a very diverse (not) guest list of attendees. Lanvin’s got a new owner, at least a majority stake owner. Fosun International has acquired a majority stake in the French fashion house. The brand has struggled to regain its footing since creative director Alber Elbaz’s departure in 2015. His successor, Bouchra Jarrar, left the house last summer after only two seasons. Grab your passports (and invite) because the next Louis Vuitton cruise show will take place in the beautiful French Riviera. Milan Fashion Week highlights so far: Gucci’s futuristic show with dragon puppies and models holding cloned heads. Moschino took it back to the 60s with a retro show.
