Parkland Shooting Survivors.  Students and survivors of the mass school shooting that saw 17 dead, are rising up and using their voices to affect change when it comes to lawmakers and gun laws. They’ve held rallies and appeared on TV. Those TV appearences apparently was what made Benjamin Kelly, aide to Florida state representative Shawn Harrison (R-Tampa), accuse the students of being “crisis actors” and not among those who survived last week’s mass shooting. He’s been summarily terminated. Kelly had sent the email to Tampa Bay Times Washington correspondent Alex Leary. The student’s planned ‘March For Our Lives’ which will take place March 24, has a $1mil donation goal and they’ve been receiving donations from some bold name celebs (see entertainment below). Meanwhile president Trump said on Tuesday he will impose new regulations that would ban devices that allow certain firearms to function as rapid fire “machine guns,” in the wake of the most recent school shooting….Read more

• The Reverend Billy Graham has died at the age of 99. He  died in his home in Montreat, North Carolina.

• In Chicago news: Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s visit to Harvard’s Graduate School of Design Tuesday was not without drama. About 50 people gathered in front of the building “to denounce the crimes of the Rahm Emanuel administration against poor and working families.” Jerry Taft, the lovable Chicago meteorologist who retired from ABC7 after a 40-plus year career is now driving Uber in Naples, Florida and loving it. Several women, current and former Ford employees, on Tuesday testified about sexual harassment they experienced while working at Ford‘s 2 Chicago plants during a Chicago City Council’s Finance Committee meeting. Lastly, David Letterman is filming his Netflix show and he’s been spotted around town.

• While Vice President Pence was in South Korea for the Winter Olympics he was set to meet with officials from North Korea but North Korea allegedly backed out of the meeting at the last minute without reason. The meeting, between Pence and Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and Kim Yong Nam, North Korea’s nominal head of state, was to have taken place on Feb. 10 during the vice president’s three-day visit to the Olympic venue. Speaking of diplomacy, things got a bit heated at a UN Security Council meeting when Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas called out the US for failing to clarify its stance on a two-state solution and US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said she will not shut up; Abbas left before she could talk.

ENTERTAINMENT

• Ariana Grande was expected to take part in a tribute to the 22 people that died in the Manchester terror attack, during tonights BRIT awards but she has unexpectedly backed out. Her team notified organisers in the last 24 hours that she couldn’t make it. She will be replaced by Liam Gallagher.
•  George and Amal Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg are some of the big names that have donated to the upcoming ‘March for Our Lives‘ set to take place in DC March 24. The Clooney’s statement said, “In the name of our children Ella and Alexander, we’re donating 500,000 dollars to help pay for this groundbreaking event. Our children’s lives depend on it.” The gesture led to a matching donation from Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey tweeted: These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard. Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw have also matched the Clooney’s donation. Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg are also making a $500,000 donation.

FASHION

• The Queen of fashion and the Queen of England walk into a fashion show together. No this isn’t a joke, it actually happened Tuesday at the Richard Quinn show during LFW; Quinn received the inaugural Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design. Queen Elizabeth sat front row next to Anna Wintour. Chicago’s own Law Roach was one of the top stylists that hosted a CFDA luncheon and conversation with Vera Wang in LA Tuesday Olivia Munn, Alison Brie, Serayah. This event was part of CFDA’s “Runway to Red Carpet” initiative. Moncler kicked off Milan fashion week this year with the  highly anticipated mega collaboration that includes Pierpaolo Piccioli, Simone Rocha, and Craig Green, among others. The Costume Designers Guild Awards also took place Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
