EXPO CHICAGO returns in September with 120 International Galleries

Miami has Basel Miami Beach, New York has Frieze and Chicago is back with EXPO! EXPO Chicago presented by the International Exposition of Contemporary and Modern Art will be held at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall from September 19-22. Notable leading International dealers will Exhibit  and court deep pocketed art buyers in Navy Pier’s Festival Hall. Jeanne Gang and her team at Studio Gang Architects will once again return this year to Design the Exposition.

EXPO debut last year after a long hiatus of a contemporary art show in Chicago. EXPO CHICAGO, under the leadership of President and Director Tony Karman and Chicago will welcome 120 leading galleries representing 16 countries and 34 cities from around the world. Chosen by the 2013 selection committee comprised of Rhona Hoffman Rhona Hoffman Gallery (Chicago), Michael Kohn Michael Kohn Gallery (Los Angeles), Anthony Meier Anthony Meier Fine Arts (San Francisco) and Chris D’Amelio David Zwirner (London, New York), these galleries present the best in contemporary and modern art.

 Another facet of EXPO will be EXPOSURE , a section of the fair that includes up to 20 galleries that have been in business seven years or less. A special presentation of one or two artists by each of the participating galleries provides critical exposure for their programs, offering an important opportunity for curators, collectors and art enthusiasts to survey the best in innovative and emerging work.
