espnW Bringing Women + Sports Conference To Chicago

espnW is bringing its signature Women + Sports conference to the Midwest with the inaugural espnW: Women + Sports CHICAGO taking place on Wednesday, April 20. The event, with a price tag of $595, will be hosted by espnW writer and ESPN Radio host Sarah Spain. The one-day conference, that starts at 7am ending with a reception at 5, will include discussions, presentations and activities geared towards advancing the agenda of women in sports and focused around the “Make an Impact” theme. ESPN CFO Christine Driessen, espnW and ESPN The Magazine editor-in-chief Alison Overholt, SportsCenter host Cari Champion and espnW’s Julie Foudy and Alyssa Roenigk will be speaking at the conference.
Gatorade CMO Morgan Flatley, will deliver a keynote address on “Innovation at Gatorade” and Publicis Groupe’s Chief Revenue Officer Laura Desmond will keynote on the evolving media landscape.
Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne 2015 along with FIFA Women’s World Cup Champion/Chicago Red Stars defender Julie Johnston and prospective Rio Olympians World Champion wrestler Adeline Gray, fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, paratriathlete Melissa Stockwell and water polo gold medalist Maggie Steffens will also be on hand.
For such a high price, we assume they are targeting mid to upper level executives in sports marketing, management etc. What is unclear is how they expect guests to participate in a 5k, albeit optional, which might include some sweating and then start the conference an hour later, will they have showers/changing stations?
