On Wednesday July 18, Clos du Bois WInery debut their new line of wine-Rouge here at Maude’s Chicago. Maude’s was th perfect spot for this event that had Clos du Bois Winery ambassador Katie on hand as well as the winemaker Gary Sitton and some cheeky can can dancers. Guests enjoyed pours of the delicious red blend Rouge while noshing on some of Maude’s Liquor Bar’s amazing food like pomme frites, herb butter ribeye, country terrine with whole grain mustard, Delice de Bourgogne with strawberry preserves, shrimp cocktail, steak tartare, and chocolate mousse with maldon sea salt, perfect pairing really. A French-themed caricature artist drew portraits of guests, even Katie Lee got in on the fun. Some of the guests in attendance inlcluded: Amanda Puck, James Goeke, Jena Gambaccini, Kevin Aeh, Marissa Conrad (we had a moment over her recent Landan Twins article), Eva Daiberl, Minna An, Erik & Jesse Smithson.
For the Oenophile: Clos du Bois Rouge is the first red blend in Clos du Bois’ beloved Classics tier and is a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Charbono. Meaning it’s delish by itself or paired with a meal
