Remember these names because they will be blowing up behind the scenes soon. Spring time is all about transitions and a new fresh start and that includes fun colors to brighten your digits and make the scene. We asked Ashley Gregory, Cristina Ursan and Dawn Danielle to share their favorite shades for spring plus tips to help keep our nails healthy.

In a short period of time she’s been named International nail technician of the Year 2013 by Nails Magazine, had her work grace cover of magazines and setup her own work space.

My go-to Spring nail colors are:

Periwinkle – Morgan Taylor “Funny Business” because it looks great on all skin tones and stands out in a sea of sheer pinks. It’s like a statement necklace for your nails! Periwinkle is a great color to try if you want to be more adventurous with your Spring/Summer nail wardrobe, but not go too far outside of your comfort zone.
Morgan Taylor nail lacquers are  infused with rare and precious elements for long-lasting color that gives gorgeous professional finish.

Pearlescent (like Essie “Kisses and Bises” ) is making a comeback. Pearlescent polishes tend to read as more mature, but they add a gorgeous sheer dimension alone or layered over other colors. I foresee more and more pearlescent options hitting the shelves in the next six months. It has been so long since pearlescent finishes have been popular that they have a cool, downtown vibe just by being different from what everyone is wearing right now.

Nail care tip:

“The best gift you can give your nails is regular use of cuticle oil. Many people don’t know that our nails are more porous than our skin, so even 60 seconds in water can leave our nails totally waterlogged. If you have polish or gel on your nails, that water has nowhere to go. Picture a dried up, old sponge – not pretty. Cuticle oil gets in and under nail coatings, restoring the moisture balance. If you’re good intentioned but forgetful, leave it on your bedside table and apply before bed. Cuticle oil will help your manicures last longer, preventing peeling of both polish and gel, and we all need that with Summer coming!

Nail Pro tip: prep nails before polishing
Dehydrate the nail to remove oils by using a linen free nail wipe & applying 99% isopropyl alcohol or non acetone polish remover. This process allows base coat to adhere to the nail.

Cristina’s picks for spring nail polishes:
For a night on the town I’m absolutely loving Midnight Swim by CND‘s new polish line called Vinlylux.
For a surprising color for spring, Red Hot Rio by Opi from their spring/summer collection Brazil collection. A bright true red is awesome for spring versus the usual pastels & bright pinks they normally launch this time of year.

For an everyday color I would recommend Taupe-less Beach by Opi, which is a perfect gray/lavender. For those who love glitz and sparkle, ‘In True Stefani Fashion’ by Opi is a beautiful silver glitter that can be worn alone or over any polish you desire.
