The Chicago Botanic Garden’s annual mid year fundraiser, Summer Dinner Dance, was held last month Friday June 15 on the sprawling grounds of the 385 acre north shore gardens. The co-chairs for this year’s event, which counted sponsors such as Northern Trust bank, were Cassie and Steve Gavin, Gillian and John Growdon, Jane Irwin, and Ryan Ruskin and Michael Andrews and a record nearly $1 million was raised.

The black-tie soiree began with cocktails in the Crescent Garden and Heritage Garden, followed by a colorful menu dinner from Food for Thought and dancing to the sounds of Maggie Speaks under a tent on the Esplanade. The event’s décor for the evening, from Frost Chicago and Revel, was designed around the color wheel’s Color in the Garden that’s currently on display.

The Chicago Botanic Garden sees more than one million visitors each year and fundraisers like this one help support more benefit from our horticulture, conservation science, and education programs locally, nationally and internationally. Fundraisers like the Summer Dinner Dance make this possible.
