Not gonna lie, when Beyoncé gave us a first glimpse of her upcoming Ivy Park x Adidas collection last month, in the thick of Christmas shopping, I was geeked! I mean broke but still geeked nonetheless, until I realized the collection wouldn’t drop until January 2020.
I mean its a very Beyoncé thing to come for our coins when we didn’t budget or already spent it other things but she knows we will indulge; its not an option its a necessity. Then we all collectively saw the unboxing of the GIANT Ivy Park line, first from the her instagram account, then on @weareivypark where we saw the three different box sizes with basically all of the apparel from the collections and started to wonder how many organs I would have to sell and how soon to get my coins to get EVERY.THING. Then this past week some top notch stylish celebs, we’re talking the cool kind A-listers, began showing us what it’s like to be on cool status with Queen B. Reese Witherspoon who has formed what we hope will be a lasting friendship with Mrs. Knowles-Carter since the Golden Globes champagne for water sitch; Janelle Monae, Cardi B, LaVerne Cox, Zendaya, Ellen Degeneres. They were all gifted the big box with a note which read: Here is something special from my adidas x ivy park collection. I’ve selected some of my favorites for you. With love and respect, Beyonce.
This is one unboxing/gifting that was strategically thought out and created so much buzz. Sure its Beyoncé and sure Adidas maybe had a large marketing budget but still, they could have gone the route of giving a piece here and there to every “instagram influencer” but they didn’t.
