Brock Collection Designer Laura Vassar Files Divorce From Husband Co-Founder

Ever since actress Amber Heard was spotted on multiple occasions with Brock collection co-founder Kristopher Brock, we hadn’t heard much about the duo or what was going on in his family life and now we know. The Vogue darlings, cool & “it” girl stylist fave and 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award winners are headed for splitsville. Laura Vassar Brock filed for marriage dissolution/divorce on April 16, 2019, in the Orange County Superior Courts out in California. She is also requesting Uniform Custody as they shareson Charlie.

The couple who met while students studying at the Parsons School of Design in New York City, founded the beloved fashion brand in 2013 and wed in 2014 in a ceremony that was covered inside the pages of Vogue magazine

Though they appeared together at the 2018 CFDA awards though we didn’t know there was trouble in fashion paradise. When Vassar Brock was profiled in Tory Burch’s website for a Mother’s day feature she was pictured with son Charlie without her wedding band. Kristopher Brock was initially spotted slow dancing at New York dive bar Doc Holliday’s with Heard before being photographed all dressed up, heading out to a sushi date at Matsuhisa restaurant in Beverly Hills.

The couple, according to an interview with The Cut, relocated from New York to Newport Beach, California, in 2016 ago for a better work-life balance. Though they are divorcing, it seems they are keeping it professional as the duo continue to move forward with their label presenting their Brock Resort 2020 collection in early June in collaboration with photographer Mark Seliger. Back in March in Paris, they hosted a dinner along with Mytheresa at Brasserie Thoumieux to fete their latest collaboration with the luxury online retailer.

Before establishing their fashion label, “Laura worked as a celebrity and editorial stylist prior to working on the design team at Theysken’s Theory. Kris trained as a tailor and pattern-maker under some of the most revered American designers.” Perhaps that Fashionista profile that glowed “working together has made both their marriage and their brand stronger” might have been a bit fortuitous.
