Ready. Set. Gala! Chicago’s Spring/Summer Gala season is now in full effect. Last Saturday the grand ballroom at Navy Pier was transformed as the Women’s Board of The Boys & Girls Club Chicago celebrated 65 years of supporting Chicago’s youth through fundraising and volunteering for the 18 club organization in the Chicagoland area.

With 9 of their past presidents, serving as the gala’s co-chairs on hand, it was a celebratory night all around. The co-chairs were Marty Higgins, Karen Gray, Linda Gantz, Ellen O’Connor, Virgina Bobins, Bonnie Stearns, Carol Walter, Barbara Pearlman, and Renée Crown. A cocktail reception kicked off the evening and guests had the opportunity to peruse the silent auction and live auction items which included luxury napa getaway, pebble beach trip, dinner at the home of Bruce and Beth White to name a few.
The black tie affair had guests, who had probably made stops at Barneys, Neopolitan, Chalk, Neiman Marcus, donned their finest Oscar de la Renta, Escada, J.Mendel.

Once seated for dinner, the 9 co-chairs took the stage thanking guests in attendance and viewed a video montage featuring the Boys & Girls Club Chicago students and staff thanking them for their support over the years.
Some of the recognizable names in attendance included power players Lester and Renée Crown, Goldman Sachs’ Joe Ferraro dapper in a white tuxedo, Jeffery and Dena Perry, King and Caryn Harris, Maria and Bill Smithburg, Mark and Robin Tebbe, Collis Hancock to name a few of the over 500 guests celebrating that evening.
Dinner concluded with performance by Under the Streetlamp.

In it’s 65 years, the Women’s Board of Boys & Girls Club Chicago has raised $75 million to support the 18 Chicagoland clubs. Here’s to 65 more years!
