Whether you want to explore new haunts in Chicago, relax, take in a festival, or have a night out on the town that’ll make your snapchat and insta stories followers green with envy, here’s what to get into this weekend. It’s #summertimeChi so there’s a lot taking place this weekend but these are the recommended ones for  you to go either solo or with a group for a good time. WHAT :: V103 Summer Block Party with Jill Scott

WHERE :: Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island
WHEN :: Saturday July 13
WHY:: Chicago! It’s time for the 5th Annual V103 Summer Block Party featuring the AMAZING Jill Scott along with Anthony Hamilton, Mase and Carl Thomas!

WHAT :: Taste of Chicago

WHERE:: Grant Park | 337 E. Randolph St
WHEN :: Friday July 12-Sunday July 14
WHY:: Taste of Chicago, the world’s largest free-admission outdoor food festival, which began on Wednesday July 10 will go until Sunday July 13. The weekend lineup of performers include: De La Soul with an opening performance by Taylor Bennett on Friday July 12. On Saturday peformances by Joywave, lovelytheband, The Strumbellas. Sunday’s performers will be Bilal, Meshell Ndegeocello, India.Arie. Food consumption from the plethora of vendors around will require tickets.

WHAT :: Bronzeville Summer Nights – 7 Yrs Celebrating Commerce + Culture

WHERE :: 43rd Street – Cottage Grove Ave. to Greenwood Ave.
WHEN :: Friday July 12
WHY:: Bronzeville will once again host a series of summer programming that offers shopping, culture, and revelry to the greater Chicago community. Long known as a stronghold of African-American heritage and deep cultural roots, the historic neighborhoods of Bronzeville kick off the seventh season of Bronzeville Summer Nights to celebrate and promote commerce in the community . SATURDAY JUNE 29

WHAT :: Jeni’s Makes Summer Better’ Chicago

WHY :: Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is giving out FREE scoops of delicious ice cream in Chicago as part of the “Jeni’s Makes Summer Better” Truck Tour! WHAT:: Square Roots Festival 2019
