EVENT: First Annual Charlie Trotter’s Culinary Education Foundation Fundraiser (SLC PICK)

EVENT: Redbull Art of The Can Exhibit  Nov. 7-16

What: 30 Artists From Across the Country to Debut Sculptures Created from the Iconic Blue and Silver Can. On November 7, the panel of judges will reveal the top three pieces, and a people’s choice winner will be announced after the exhibition concludes on November 16

WHY: The distinctive can that has given millions of people around the world energy when they need it most has been cut, tied, welded and glued to create remarkable pieces of sculpture from 30 US artists.

EVENT: SOFA CHICAGO Opening Night Preview

What:  The 21st Annual Exposition of Sculpture Objects & Functional Art + Design Fair is a gallery-presented, international art exposition dedicated to bridging the worlds of design, decorative and fine art.
Where:  Navy Pier Festival Hall

When: Thursday November 6

Why:  Works by emerging and established artists and designers are available for sale by premier galleries and dealers.  SOFA CHICAGO opens Thursday, November 6 and runs through Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Navy Pier.

EVENT: Alzheimer’s Association Fashionable FUNdraiser

What: York Furrier & Chicago Magazine’s Fashionable FUNdraiser 
Where:  York Furrier at Deer Park Town Center
When: Wednesday, November 5

What:  W Hotels Worldwide & Council of Fashion Designers of America’s {FASHION INCUBATOR} designers KaelenIsa TapiaKara and Nomia Part of CFDA’s Newest Class of Incubator Designers, to introduce their brands to the Windy City.

Why: W Hotels Worldwide and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) {FASHION INCUBATOR} recently announced the second phase of their global partnership, which will once again take the Incubator designers outside of New York and into markets that are important to growing their businesses.

EVENT:  Flat Iron Artists Association First Friday’s “The Big Color Dance”

What: Flat Iron Artists Association is presenting First Friday’s “The Big Color Dance” celebration featuring large, colorful paintings covering the entire second floor of the Flat Iron Arts building
