Wednesday night, along the Chicago river, some of Chicago top CEO’s and philanthropists helped light the Lasalle and Clark Street Bridge pink while raising $300,000 for the organization founded by Nancy G. Brinker to honor her sister’s battle with breast cancer. As many of you know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to commemorate, the invite only reception started along the Chicago River at Chef Tony Mantuano & John Hogan’s River Roast restaurant followed by dinner at the soon to open The Kitchen. Co-chairs were Beth and Bruce White-Chairman/CEO of White Lodging, Kim and Miles White-CEO of Abbott Laboratories.

The ‘Perfect Pink Night’ co-hosts were Lisa and Jeff Aronin, Howard Bernick, Eve and Rich Biller, Eric Brinker, Janet and Craig Duchossois, Suzanne and Albert Friedman, Sabrina and Antonio Gracias, Aimee and James Gray, Anne Dias Griffin(not in attendance), Martha and Richard Melman, Laura Ricketts and Desiree Rogers.

Following the reception and lighting of the bridges, guests including Marty Higgins, Robin & Mark Tebbe, Karen Gray, Harold & Harriet Siegel to name a few, were led up to the soon to open restaurant, The Kitchen headed by chef Johnny Anderes, for dinner and a side of bling. On the menu? House made cavetelli, braised slagel farms beef flageolet, artisinal cheese and charcuterie platter, specialty cocktails and wine.

H. Seigel Fine Auctions of Palm Beach was on hand with some amazing jewels from diamond encrusted bracelets, earrings to necklace dripping with diamonds and precious colored diamonds they call wearable wealth. The company would donate portion of proceeds to the Susan G. Komen®.

The funds raised will go towards Komen Chicagoland funding of services, support, outreach, and education.
