One corner of the room had Thor posing with Captain America, in the photobooth Batman taking pictures with fans, when she wasn’t cuddled with her boyfriend the Joker, Harley Quinn was on the dance floor shaking it with Storm, and though this may have looked like a scene from The Avengers: Chicago Superheroes, it was actually the fundraiser for Chicago Public Library Foundation’s Junior Board, Night in the Stacks. Held under the stars at the Harold Washington Library’s Winter Garden on Friday April 10, the evening had all the recipe for a fun junior board event: DJ that can play, food from Jewell Catering, open bar, photo booth and good looking guests (albeit most were coupled up).
With DJ Scotty T behind the music, when guests weren’t bidding on the auction items, or hamming it up in the Smilebooth, they were glued to the dance floor all night, from doing the wobble to Ludacris’ how low can you go and more.

It wasn’t just any ordinary party at the winter garden; Night in The Stacks, in its second year is the Chicago Public Library Foundation Junior Board’s fundraiser which was co-chaired by Mercedes Bender, Trevor Scheetz and Angela Burke and proceeds from the event benefits the Chicago Public Library Foundation and its innovative programs at the Chicago Public Library. The next gen of superheroe philanthropists for our city’s beloved civic institution such as Annie Hambleton, Janeen Mays, Gregory Curtis, Geoff and Angie Euston, Tiffany and Lorenzo Gholston, Coree Hamilton, Jessica Mayberry, Meredith Baskies, Andra Popa and many more came out in support. The a few of the evening’s sponsors included BMO Harris Bank, Sidley & Austin LLP, CBRE, Baker Tilly.
