No Drinking in The Library! Our Night In The Stacks

No drinking in the library! No eating in the library! No loud music in the library! For one night, the rules were thrown out the window as  guests did the absolute opposite  and what a great time it was!

‘Night In The Stacks’ was the Chicago Public Library Foundation Junior Board’s 1st major fundraiser and I will have to say it was a successful one {UPDATED: They raised $110,000}. After checking in and checking coats, guests stepped onto the transformed 9th floor winter garden.  Gone were the small tables and chairs, replaced with comfortable sofas, book shelves  and mingling among guests were some of your favorite book characters. Frankenstein ghoulishly caused a scene, The mad hatter and his wild hat and unibrow photobombed a few pictures, Holly Golightly even made it to Chicago to make the scene.

Spotted in attendance were some of the CPL Foundation junior board members, authors, friends and guests such as Charles Blackstone,  Aprill Hawkins, Angela Burke, Suraj Patel, Stephanie Hicks, Meredith Baskies, Claudine Tambuatco, Jessica Mayberry, Mercedes Bender, Saaniya Bedi, Marc Levy, Bradley Heit, Erick McKissack, Wesley Chu, Andra Popa, Joe Fitzpatrick, Annie Hambleton, Terra Jacobson to name a few.

With plenty of food and drinks being passed all night, the party at the library got going once DJ Edwin Konsept @EDWINKONSEPT played the Wobble. Guests rushed, yes (the wobble is serious business) to the dance floor. Hit after hit kept them on the dancing all night long.  When not dropping it low on the dance floor, guests took part in the photo area by donning different costume headgears as well as partaking . The owl head was a hit.
