Remember when you were a little one, the first time you went into a candy shop and your eyes lit up brighter than the summer sky on the fourth of july? You looked left, looked right, jumped up and down because you wanted everything? Well that’s what it felt like stepping into the new Neapolitan Collection store in Winnetka while flipping through Stellene Volandes’ new book, Jeweler: Masters, Mavericks, and Visionaries of Modern Design.
You may have seen photos or read about what owner Kelly Golden has done to the space but trust me, actually seeing it IRL makes it all come together and you literally want every.damn.thing in the store, lack of funds be damned.
On the evening of February 2, I headed up to Winnetka for the Neapolitan collection hosted reception to fête Town & Country magazine’s Editor in Chief Stellene Volandes’ book Jeweler: Masters, Mavericks, and Visionaries of Modern Design, foreworded by Carolina Herrera, with some fab and fancy Chicago and North Shore residents.

The Rizzoli published coffee table sized book, gives readers an insiders view of some of the most talented jewelry designers beyond the Harry Winston’s, Neal Lane of the world. We were lucky enough to meet one of said jewelers in the book, Nicholas Varney, who’s beautiful baubles are sold in the store.
