Kering To Support HeForShe Campaign

Ahead of International Women’s Day March 8, French luxury house Kering announced they will be supporting the United Nations’ HeForShe campaign. Kering is also partnering with the UN Women French National Committee to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in celebration of International Women’s Day March 8. The Kering Foundation is joining forces with eight other French corporate foundations (Chanel Corporate Foundation, Elle Foundation, The Air France Foundation, Orange Foundation, Raja-Danièle Marcovici’s Foundation, Sanofi Espoir Corporate Foundation, the Sisley-d’Ornano Foundation and the Solidarity Accorhotels Fund) on the “We Are Women” project, a series of films directed by Nils Tavernier to be broadcast on French television and online to coincide with International Women’s Day.

The HeForShe campaign rallies people around the world to support gender equality, notably involving men and encouraging them to act in favor of equality by condemning sexist stereotypes and taking action to redefine gender-based roles in their personal and professional lives.

The UN Women French National Committee spearheads initiatives targeting advocacy, education and raising awareness of gender equality as well as helping mobilize resources for UN Women programs in more than 90 countries. Kering will provide the committee with financial support as well as joining its roster of partner companies.

“Kering is already strongly involved in promoting gender equality, notably through the Kering Foundation, and signed the Women’s Empowerment Principles charter in 2010. Almost 60% of its employees and more than 50% of its managers are women.
