Big up Jamaica! The Jamaican soccer team (“Reggae Boyz”) beat defending champions USA 2-1 last night in the Georgia Dome, making it to the finals and becoming the first Caribbean squad to reach the Gold Cup final. No blowhorn partying just yet, Jamaica will play for the crown against six-time champion Mexico on Sunday in Philadelphia.


BUSINESS

Vroom Vroom! Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has submitted Italian luxury sports car Ferrari for IPO with NYSE for the last quarter of the year. FCA plans to spin off Ferrari, sell a 10 percent stake of its 90 percent of Ferrari via  share sale and distribute the rest of its stake in the business to its shareholders. The remaining 10 percent is held by Piero Ferrari, vice chairman and son of the founder Enzo.

• If you’re in the market to purchase a media company, there may be an opening at U.K. based Pearson PLC. They may be mulling over the potential sale of FT Group that includes the Financial Times newspaper according to reports. [WSJ]

• The Leonardo Dicaprio Foundation gala took place in St Tropez at the Domain Bertaud Belieu vineyard and guests included Sir Elton John who performed, Orlando Bloom, Marion Cotillard, Prince Albert II of Monaco, Adrian Brody , Sylvester Stallone,Kate Hudson, Petra Nemcova, Naomi Campbell and Michelle Rodriguez raising over $40 million. “Tonight’s event is about supporting LDFs efforts to protect key species like the tiger, rhino, shark, and mountain gorilla by working with governments to conserve the jungles, coral reefs and forests they call home. By focusing on protecting these critically-endangered iconic species is almost like setting up a worldwide network of Noahs arks.”

Bill Cosby’s challenge to a sexual assault lawsuit against him was denied by California’s Supreme Court which means the civil suit, filed by Judith Huth, can continue to the trial phase and he will be deposed.

• Tinker Tailor, founded by former Moda Operandi co-founder Aslaug Magnusdottir, an online destination for personalized ready-to-wear looks and made-to-order apparel and accessories which launched in May 2014 is closing. “It is disappointing that the financing didn’t coincide with the company’s ambitions, but I truly believe Tinker Tailor has helped move the industry further down that path.” Somewhere Lauren Santo Doomingo is giving an Anna Wintour approved smirk.
