DNC in Philly Day 3. Yesterday’s lineup of events and speakers was like a hot fire rap battle filled with oooohs, ahhhhhs and etheration. Sanders supporters Susan Sarandon, Rosario Dawson and Danny Glover were upset about the treatment of Nina Turner. Angela Bassett, Lee Daniels, and Sigourney Weaver were some of the celebs on hand. Former NYC mayor and self made billionaire Michael Bloomberg addressed the crowd enthusiastically endorsing Clinton then saying about Trump, “I’m a New Yorker and I know a con when I see one” *OOOOOHHHH. Vice President Joe Biden said Trump’s concerns were “a bunch of malarkey…He has no clue about what makes America great. Actually he has no clue period” AHHHHHHH. VP pick Tim Kaine, also took jabs at the GOP presidential candidate’s shadiness about his tax returns and parodying Trump’s famous two words “Trust me.” President Obama closed out the evening, going in on Trump while reminding what was at stake and what makes America a great country. “Don’t boo, vote” (people are already making shirts). He ended with God bless America and Stevie Wonder’s ‘Signed Sealed, Delivered” when Hillary Clinton, in her signature blue pant suit, joined him onstage. • Uber can now operate legally in Beijing, China. Uber along with rival Didi Chuxing received clearance after China issued nationwide ride-hailing regulations, making it the largest country to formally legalize the sector at a national level. China, boasting more than twice the total U.S. population plus 25 cities more populous than Los Angeles, is a huge growth potential for Uber and rival Didi.

• The President of University of Louisville, James Ramsey,  is stepping down. The university is facing scrutiny over separate scandals that involve financial misdeeds and sex parties for athletes.

ENTERTAINMENT

• ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,’ the two part play that opened in London on Monday, has been extended through the end of 2017. According to THR, critics have praised the play as both a fluid continuation of the Potter saga and a unique theatrical experience in its own right.

• When Harper’s Bazaar magazine debuts their September issue, Icons by Carine Roitfeld, Kanye and Kim Kardashian West will be on the cover. The couple’s spread was shot by Karl Lagerfeld at his studio in Paris, in bed on top of his own antique sheets with cell phones in hand according to WWD.

FASHION

• The Board of Directors of Roberto Cavalli S.p.A. appointed Gian Giacomo Ferraris as CEO of the company, replacing outgoing CEO Renato Semerari. Chairman Francesco Trapani will officially step down from his position in Roberto Cavalli on September 10th. Ferraris was former CEO of Versace from 2009 to May of this year.
