The Apple Watch’s global retail rollout was more low key compared to the fanfare other Apple product retail launches have seen in the past. The product is being positioned more as a fashion item and as such is being rolled out and made available to purchase on site at upscale boutiques and department stores, including The Corner in Berlin, Maxfield in Los Angeles and Dover Street Market in Tokyo and London, Colette in Paris, not at Apple stores. There are 38 variations with prices ranging from $349-$10,000. [REUTERS]

The designer of the Comcast-Time Warner merger plans may have been taking the saying “dream big,” wayyy too far. Comcast is dropping its $45 billion merger with Time Warner Cable. Regulators were concerned that the merger would overpower the rapidly evolving television and entertainment industries. Comcast spent $17 million in lobbying last year and had a team of 128 lobbyists. The merger would have combined the two largest cable providers in the country and would have put more than half of all high-speed Internet customers under one company. Maybe next time.
