Whether you want to explore new haunts in Chicago, relax, take in a festival, or have a night out on the town that’ll make your snapchat and insta stories followers green with envy, here’s what to get into this weekend. It’s #summertimeChi so there’s a lot taking place this weekend but these are the recommended ones for  you to go either solo or with a group for a good time. WHY:: Wicker Park Fest Presented by Goose Island: Four main stages, three days. Presenting the best in music, food, arts, kids entertainment, and shopping to our fair city.

WHAT :: Wakandacon Chicago 2019

WHERE:: Hyatt Regency McCormick Chicago| 337 E. Randolph St
WHEN :: July 26-28, 2019
WHY:: Wakandacon is a 3-day Afro-Futuristic celebration for comic nerds, pop culture buffs, big thinkers, techies, creatives, storytellers, gamers, science geeks, dreamers, makers, movers, shakers and anyone contributing to the culture!

WHAT:: Evening Associates Garden Party 

WHERE :: Art Institute of Chicago 
WHEN :: July 27 6-9PM
WHY :: The Evening Associates of The Art Institute of Chicago are excited to announce the return of Garden Party! The gorgeous event will surround the highly anticipated art exhibition, Manet & Modern Beauty. Guests will enjoy live musical performances in the garden by Astro Samurai, DJ sets by Sadie Woods, summer cocktails inspired by Manet, private access to the museum’s blockbuster exhibition, and an official after party at Cerise Rooftop. WHAT :: Chicago Margarita Festival

WHERE :: Navy Pier Chicago
WHEN :: Saturday, July 27-Sunday July 28 .
WHY :: Chicago Margarita Festival returns this summer for a weekend of lounging and sipping top shelf margaritas while dancing to live island sound music. The festival will feature three tasting sessions.

WHAT :: 31st Annual GhanaFest™ 2019 “Akwaaba:The Year of Return”

WHERE :: Washington Park
WHEN :: Jul 27 – Jul 28
WHY :: Ghana National Council of Chicago and its affiliates present the 31st annual events showcasing Ghanaian music, art, fashion, food, performances and culture open to all ages. GhanaFest™ is the largest showcase of African culture, music, food, and fashion in the Midwest of United States since 1988. Proceeds will go towards the construction of The Ghana house, a vision of the community for the past 30 years. This year celebrates Ghana’s “Year of The Return” initiative.

WHAT :: MCA Talk: On Style and Democratic Design with NO SESSO and Universal Standard
