Before the Bears took the field and won against the Rams this past Sunday, some present and past athletes attended Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center 5th Annual ‘Guys Night Out for The Kids.’ Honorary Chair for the event was Chicago Bears’ Charles Tilman and he was joined by several philanthropic men such as Anthony Adams, LaRue martin, Jim Thornton to raise funds for this organization that brings awareness and help fight child sexual abuse. The host committee included philanthropic men from different industries in Chicago such as Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart, Loop Capital’s Clarence Bourne, Alexi Giannoulias of Bank of New York Mellon Corp, Walgreens’ Christopher Roswold to name a few.
Carmichaels in the West loop was teeming with men that for once, I was at an event that the ratio was in my favor by a whole lot. But it wasn’t all fun as everyone gathered there were in attendance to help raise money and support the CCAC. The evening featured an array of silent auction items, a cigar rolling station provided by Windy City Cigars, watches and jewelry from Geneva Seal(they had this amazing Patek Philippe on display).

An event of that magnitude couldn’t have been executed without a well connected and efficient planning committee that included Margaret O’Connor who also received an award that night for her tireless work and dedication, Pete Negro, Sarak Kern, Christopher Roswold, Eugene Roy.

Jay Levine of CBS2CHicago served as MC for the night and guests had a good time mingling and bidding. For someone of his caliber I am duly impressed by the level of service and support Charles Tillman and his wife Jackie devote to supporting non-profits outside their own foundation. I hear they are expecting an addition to the family sometime in November so congrats to the Tillman’s!
