EVENT: Patrick J. Ryan Main Event

What:   The Patrick J. Ryan Main Event is established by former Illinois Attorney General Jim Ryan and his wife Marie and their family in memory of their son Patrick who died of suicide in 2007
Where: Drury Lane, Oak Brook

When: Friday, February 6, 2015

Why:The event will feature an exciting night of 8 to 10 talented, Golden Glove-style amateur boxing fights, cocktails, hors d’oevures, a raffle and ringside seating with dinner. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide (LOSS) Program created for children and youth who have endured the loss of a loved one to suicide.


EVENT: MCA Studio Samantha Hill, 10 Body Performances

What:  Artist Samantha Hill leads an interactive workshop and discussion that explore the history of performance art at the MCA.
Where:   MCA Chicago

When: Tuesday, Feb 3
Time: 6–7 pm
Cost:  FREE with museum admission
Admission is free for IL residents on Tuesdays, year round.
Why:   10 Body performances is the first in a series of three public programs titled The Happenings, which were devised by Hill for the MCA.

WHY:  The Regional Qualifying stop and the winner of the competition will move on to Pheonix, AZ for the USA Championship. Competitors are judged on the dual platforms of technical ability and crowd reaction, and are given just 15 minutes each to prove that they’re the best in the room.
