Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow co-chaired the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts’ (LACMA) sixth annual Art + Film gala presented by Gucci, honoring pioneering Light and Space artist Robert Irwin and Award–winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow. The Art, film and fashion world were all well represented with guests including Kering boss François-Henri Pinault and Salma Hayek, Gucci President and CEO Marco Bizzarri, LACMA CEO Michael Govan, Gwyneth Paltrow (sans Brad Falchuk), Demi Moore, Jeff and Justine Koons, Bradley Cooper, Brie Larson, Mary Kate Olsen, Elizabeth Olsen, Ashley Olsen, Ava DuVernay, Glenn Kaino, DSQuared2’s Dan Caten & Dean Caten. The star-studded event that had about 550 guests in attendance, also attracted some next gen new guard style stars and old guard such as Jaden Smith, Soo-hyuk Lee, A$AP Rocky, Barbara Davis, Melanie Griffith David O. Russell, James Goldstein, Walt Disney Company Chairman/CEO Bob Iger celebrating in a custom pavilion erected behind the museum, and raised more than $3.6 million at the gala that will help support LACMA’s film initiatives and future exhibitions, acquisitions, and programming.
Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michelle served as Gala Host Committee Chair. Guests had the opportunity to preview a special clip of Kathryn Bigelow’s latest virtual reality short film, The Protectors, produced by Here Be Dragons and the night capped off with performance by BØRNS.
