BigStar Wrigley Opens April 2
Big Star 2.0 aka the new 2 story Wrigleyville BigStar (3640 N. Clark St.) location is now open. The 2-story taco den is open just a week before the home opener at Wrigley Field and guests can indulge in all the tacos, margs and now nachos.
First week hours of operation will be Monday through Wednesday, 5 p.m. – 12 a.m., Thursday through Sunday, 11:30 a.m. – 12 a.m. After opening week, Big Star Wrigleyville will open 11:30 a.m. to close, seven days a week, opening at 10 a.m. on Cubs game days.
8 Go Blue 4 OHU Restaurant Collective
One Hope United invites local foodies to Go Blue 4 OHU and savor menu and cocktail specialties from 40 Chicago and suburban restaurants to help the human services nonprofit raise funds for programs that prevent child abuse during April, National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Some of the restaurants participating include: Coco Pazzo, Mercadito, RM Champagne Salon, Travelle and in the suburbs Elly’s, Ambrosia Euro-American Patisserie in Barrington, Cupitol in Evanston

The Green City Market Dinner Series hosted at Travelle Kitchen + Bar inside The Langham hotel is coming back of its third year. Each Wednesday evening from May 9 through October 31, for $55/person guests will enjoy an unforgettable four-course menu with an optional $20/person wine pairing. The Travelle Kitchen + Bar culinary team hand-selects the best offerings each Wednesday morning from the Green City Market in Lincoln Park, Chicago’s year-round sustainable farmers market. You’ll be dining for a great cause as 10% of the proceeds from the menu directly benefits Green City Market. Mark your calendars.
Monteverde Restaurant & Pastificio’s Sarah Grueneberg’s chicken sandwich collaboration with Honey Butter Fried Chicken (3361 N. Elston Ave.) will be available for a limited time from April 10-15. The Spicy Chicken Parm Sandwich, which will be sold for $11 with $1 per sandwich donated to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, Grueneberg’s charity of choice. Customers can order the sandwich at the restaurant or for delivery via caviar.
Fort Willow Launching Sunday Brunch
Fort Willow (1721 N. Elston Ave.), the newest restaurant from DMK, located in Noble Square, has announced they are kicking off Sunday brunch April 8. Fort Willow’s Sunday brunch which will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m will offer diners dim sum-style “Brunch Bites” which will be served tableside and include oyster shooters with fresh tomato juice and Sriracha; avocado toast with whipped goat cheese and fresh herbs; “Egg” rolls with chorizo, potato and cheese; a roasted cauliflower hash made with an egg, onion, hatch chiles and serrano hot sauce; Benedict with ham, poached eggs and harissa hollandaise; house-made Fritos with salsa verde, cheese and a fried egg; an omelet with seasonal vegetables and goat cheese. The “Sweet Bites” options will include French toast bites with maple bourbon dipping sauce; mini beignets with powdered sugar; grilled pineapple with tajin and lime; and horchata crème brûlée with crispy cinnamon rice noodles.
