As we anxiously await the 2018 Cubs baseball season to begin and Wrigleywillve to get extra loud (rowdy) once again, we receive news of another upcoming restaurant in the Wrigleyville neighborhood of Chicago. Cubs manager Joe Madden and renowned chef Tony Mantuano (Spiaggia, River Roast) will open a new dining and bar experience in Wrigleyville. Though details of the upcoming restaurant is limited at the moment, we do know the concept will be operated by Chicago-based Levy Restaurants. This new restaurant situated by the Park at Wrigley development, the new year-round destination steps from Wrigley Field, by the Ricketts family.
This will not be Joe Maddon’s first foray into owning a restaurant. He already has an Italian restaurant, Ava, in Tampa, Fla. and has consulted on a few food related concepts most recently.
“While my primary focus is bringing another title to Chicago, I am also excited to partner with another group of talented individuals and bring an incredible concept to one of the most amazing cities on the planet. I have always enjoyed being in the restaurant business and am excited to offer something different and unique to the Wrigley neighborhood, not only for Cubs games, but all year round.”
Chef Tony Mantuano, to many in the Chicago food world/scene, needs no introduction. The James Beard award winning chef owns the Italian restaurant Spiaggia which President Obama listed as one of his favorite restaurants. He is also partner in River North rests River Roast.
We can’t wait to share more about this Maddon-Mantuano partnership and see what the scene is like.
We’ll update this space one more information on the upcoming Wrigleyville restaurant is available.
