EVENT: James Beard Sneak Peek Soiree

ABOUT:  Over 300 Chicago foodies, tastemakers and influencers. Tastings from 20 select Chicago restaurants. And one culinary legend — James Beard — who inspired not only this celebratory event, but also James Beard Eats Week and the James Beard Awards, known amongst the industry as the “Oscars of the food world.”

EVENT: Evening Associates After Dark featuring “Go”

ABOUT:  The Evening Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago invites you to experience Go, the second installment of The Modern Series, with special guides and late-night access. Check out live performances by Monakr and Mano. Be sure not to miss interactive performances from acclaimed theatrical ensemble, Collaboraction, while sampling complimentary appetizers and cocktails from the cash bar. EVENT: ICELANDIC SPIRITS COCKTAIL CLASS

ABOUT:  Don’t miss Taste of Iceland’s first cocktail class in Chicago! Led by Icelandic mixologist and Brennivin cocktail champion, Kári Sigurðsson, and The Gwen’s lead mixologist Jason Deatherage, this unique class will include interactive tutorials on how to make delicious craft cocktails. Reyka Ambassador Trevor Schneider will join Kári and Jason to give class-goers an introduction to Reyka and its distillery process. The recipes will combine traditional Icelandic concoctions with locally crafted spirits. The class is free and first-come, first-served. Must be 21+ to participate.

This year, for the first time, The HistoryMakers archives will be made the focus, as the history and legacy of Chicago is told through stories from the Collection.
