ABOUT:  Rehab Institute of Chicago, RIC’s new research hospital is the only one of its kind on the planet. The incredible new facility design will adopt translational methods, integrating science directly with clinical care, to achieve never-before-possible outcomes and even cures. The Grand Opening Gala will be held inside the new hospital–an extraordinary celebration, befitting this extraordinary new resource. This will be the only time this facility will ever be used in this way, as the patients will move into it just two weeks later.

EVENT: Chicago European Union Film Festival

ABOUT: From March 3 through 30, the Gene Siskel Film Center welcomes you to our 20th Annual Chicago European Union Film Festival. The largest festival in the nation showcasing films of the European Union nations, this anniversary festival presents Chicago premieres of 62 new feature films representing all 28 EU nations.

EVENT: Lincoln Library Honors Neil Degrasse Tyson

ABOUT:  The 10th Lincoln Leadership Prize Dinner, presented by The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation (ALPLF) will honor Neil deGrasse Tyson, Ph.D., astrophysicist at the American Museum of Natural History and the first occupant of the Frederick P. Rose Directorship at the Hayden Planetarium. Tyson – the first scientist to receive the coveted prize – works tirelessly to advance America’s science legacy. Captain James A. Lovell, famous as the commander of the Apollo 13 mission and a previous Lincoln Leadership Prize recipient (2010), will be presenting the award to Mr. Tyson

EVENT: DJ Nicky Siano @ Disco

ABOUT:  Disco pioneer Siano, the former resident DJ at Studio 54 is coming to Chicago for an early birthday celebration. The film screening of Siano’s documentary “LOVE IS THE MESSAGE” begins at 8pm on the Rooftop Garden at Celeste and doors open at 11pm to DISCO when Siano will begin his DJ performance.

EVENT: Jake Melnick’s St. Patty’s Day Brunch

ABOUT:  The Gold Coast staple is celebrating St. Patty’s Day with their “Pre-Soak” Brunch for only $2 PER PERSON!!!! The buffet-style brunch includes scrambled eggs with cheddar, corned beef hash, mini potato pancakes, Belgian waffles with whiskey syrup, emerald fruit salad, hickory smoked bacon and grilled Irish soda bread. ABOUT:  Thirteen chefs will try to outdo each other with traditional and contemporary chowder recipes at the 7th annual Chowdah Fest. Their goal: to win the title “Best Chowdah in Town. Participating chefs include: Cory Morris (Ronero), Carlos Gaytan (Mexique), CJ Callahan (Hopleaf), Johnny Anderes (The Kitchen Bistro Chicago), Dirk & Terry Fucik (Dirk’s Fish & Gourmet), Lamar Moore (The Smoke Daddy), John Scholl and Jesse Valenciana (ManBQue), Rob & Jeffrey Mazza (New England Seafood Co.), J Hart Wolf (da Lobsta), Donna Lee (Brown Bag Seafood Co.), returning 1st-Year champ!
