From the release of their Snow day commercial featuring elite athletes including Chicago Sky’s Elena Delle Donne, Nike has been urging athletes of all levels to not submit into the fall fitness slump and give their workouts a jolt, outdoors.
On October 29, they challenged all athletes to take their training outdoors and prove it by posting their workouts with #GETOUTHERE hashtags for a chance to be chosen as one of 48 to participate in the Nike Get Out Here Challenge. If you weren’t chosen, you too can still prove your outdoor grit with some of their upcoming workouts at the floating gym on the Chicago riverwalk. Starting tomorrow December 9, athletes are encouraged to come partake in training sessions and Nike+ Run Club runs at the Get Out Here Challenge venue located at 35 E. Riverwalk South (Wabash and Wacker). Registration for daily training and running sessions can be found at Nike.com/Chicago registration opened at 10:30am, Saturday Dec. 5. Each session will be lead by Nike Mater Trainers and Nike+ Run Club Coaches challenging each athlete to perform to their personal best. The complimentary Get Out Here training sessions take place daily from Dec. 9-12.
The Nike Get Out Here Challenge, an elevated training experience curated for elite level competition will take place on Dec. 12 in Chicago. A total of 48 competitors have been selected from across North America by their weather-defying photos and videos submitted via social media. Each athlete exudes the grit and passion needed to conquer the outdoors in the winter months. At the end of the challenge, two competitors, one male and one female, will be selected to take on another challenge by Nike at an upcoming event in 2016.
