Chicago’s first and only public high school for the arts was awarded a grant of $1 million by The Efroymson Family Fund, the largest grant made yet in the school’s history. This gift, made at the recommendation of Elissa Hamid Efroymson, who has served on ChiArts’ board of directors since its start-up years, represents ChiArts’ progression from a start-up school to a successful and sustainable public school model serving students from throughout Chicago’s diverse communities.
