President Obama addressed the nation yesterday after news broke of the mass school shooting in Oregon. The details that are being reported so far is that the 26-year-old man walked into a writing class at Umpqua community college in Oregon, shot a teacher point blank and then asked what the students’ religion was and shot those that said they were Christians leaving at least nine people dead. The gunman who died following a shootout with police, has been identified, though motive for the killing may remain unknown. In his statement the president said “such shootings have become so routine, we’ve become numb to this” bringing the number of school shootings this year to 45. [CHICAGO TRIBUNE | CNN]

The 2nd largest airline’s CEO Oscar Munoz admitted that the merger with Continental, that took place five years ago, was not working well and he will work to improve customer satisfaction, poor on-time performance and their work force. Mr. Munoz has been on a listening tour for the past three weeks and noted that in order to improve customer service and satisfaction, they needed to fix employee relations first. [NY TIMES]

Experian announced a massive data breach that has exposed the personal data including names, addresses, birth dates and SSN, of about 15 million people who applied for service with T-Mobile in the prior two years. [REUTERS]

The Golden State Warriors head coach will be taking an indefinite leave of absence while he recovers from back surgery and will be replaced in the interim by Luke Walton, his “highly regarded assistant coach.” [USA TODAY]
